02 Jan hello 2016. are you ready for me?
2015 was one hell of a year, am I glad it’s over? Maybe, I’m not sure. It’s brought me to where I am now so maybe not. But the one thing it taught me is that I can do anything I set my mind to, if I’m determined enough I can succeed and I am a survivor. So I am taking that with me into the new year, the knowledge that I am able to do anything. That I can be anything, accomplish just about every damn thing I want.
Last year saw me going from a corporate and secure job to being a freelancer, it sure as fuck hasn’t been easy and my bank statements and bounced debits the past two months can attest to that but for the most part it’s really helped me grow and I’ve succeeded more than I thought I would. And I go into this year knowing I’ll turn it into one of my biggest successes because it’s in my genes, I’ve watched my parents turn their dreams into reality and I am so grateful for that. They may not be millionaires but they’ve taught me that hard work and perseverance pays off in the end. My freelance isn’t where I want it to be yet but then again Rome wasn’t built in a day so I’ll stick to it and work my ass off to keep it growing constantly. Plants don’t grow without nurturing.
I celebrated a one year anniversary, a crown birthday and a grade R graduation, we laughed and cried, changed meds and travelled. I got to drive epic cars, design an iPad game and write a book. I learned how to do brush lettering, took a swim in my natural swimming pool, harvested tomatoes and lemons from my garden. Lost a precious furbaby and gained two more. Started learning a new language, made new friends, watched an outdoor movie, got new tattoos, found my voice and finally went back to my ‘natural’ hair colour.
It’s a new year and I have a hell of a lot planned for it but I don’t want to share it all right now because I’m afraid that if I do actually share it I’ll lose the motivation to do it. That’s just how I am so I’ll share them as I accomplish them, because I will.
Let’s just say this… 2016 is going to be EPIC!
