my year in books

Every year I set a reading goal. A number of books to try and read before the year is out. For 2013 I read 185 books according to GoodReads (actually I read more but a lot of them were re-reads and GoodReads doesn’t count those) but then for 2014 I only read 20 books (with a few re-reads) and 2015 was 26 books with a few re-reads again.

Sad sad sad state. Even though I know that it’s still more than most people read in a year.

This year was really busy again and I was scared I wouldn’t make my reading goal of 50 books and I hit managed it! I did try then push for 100 by new year but that’s not going to happen unless I count short stories or blogposts :P

Also, very important > A big shout out to Penguin Random House, several individual authors and that random guy on freecycle for keeping me reading this year. Books are pricey and I appreciate each one I’m given to review.

So here, in no particular order, are the books I read for 2016.

Yay for reading more than anticipated. I hit 381 0_o E-books greatly added to my reading speed, as did finding BookBub with those daily free read deals. Here’s to more reading in 2017!

Here’s to reading much more! Though I think 2017 is going to be all Audio books. I have started working for an Australian charity so hours are odd and then I have my 365 drawing project as well…
