The tooth faerie came to visit us again last night, this time she had to answer a note that came with the tooth > do you eat teeth? When I was pregnant and before the concepts of bunnies that deliver chocolate eggs and fat men that bring gifts became something he could fathom on I was dead set on not telling him these westernized holidays capitalized by hallmark to extort money out of parents. But then his granny had other plans and thus the fat man, tooth faerie and bunny...

Oddly enough when Fysh was born I never really had much of a problem getting him to sleep. He was a little colicky until I switched him over to soy but other than that he would sleep 6 hours easily between feeds. From around age 2 though he decided that sleep was for the weak. Day time naps? Who needs those really? When bedtime rolls around there's an excuse for EVERYTHING. He needs the loo, the blanket isn't right, the curtain isn't closed all the way. He's hungry. He needs...

Yesterday my tiny little prem baby turned EIGHT! He's gone from a little 1.7kg sprite to a 35kg unicorn with a mind of his own and the attitude of an 18 year old at times. I think he's still a bit affected by everyone bailing on his party last year that this year he didn't want one, instead he asked for a unicorn cake, a piñata and believe it or not...

Fysh saw found a yo-yo while at a playdate and actually got it right, well sort of. He asked if he could get one for his birthday so I said sure I'll try find one for him. He ended up spotting one at the crazy store when I popped in to get smoothie glasses with reusable straws so I got it. A little early seeing as his birthday is only this weekend but it's kept him entertained while I was cramming in all the work possible so that I...

I like to think that I can be spontaneous and don't need a rigid schedule but I'm just lying to myself. While I don't write it all down and list it hour by hour like some people I do plan out my day and week in my head and if anyone messes with my planning I get agitated and sometimes rather snappy and mean. I've been thinking I need to keep a schedule and then send those around me a link to it so they can schedule themselves in...

We were at the opening of The Kids Gym on Wednesday and they have these really cool classes the kids can do, one in particular is The NinjaZone where they learn to be ninja's. Basically it's a mix of martial arts, gymnastics and parkour. So the kids are having a fantastic time because who doesn't want to be a ninja right? But they're getting a full workout without even it even registering so it's great. Also, not everyone is made for group sports or ball sports but kids...

We aren't Spur fanatics, Fysh isn't a fan of the food and I can't fault him, it's rather kak. But we were at Sable Square yesterday for an event and we were a little early, we'd already had lunch and walked around so we went to Spur and ordered a drink mainly so Fysh could jump and clamber in the play area while we waited for time to pass. At the moment we're watching Without a Trace and it really shows how quickly things can happen and people go...

Driving home from a July 4th party Juniper and her older sister get into a car accident and only one survives and the other is left trying to pick up the pieces and find ways to deal with the grief. Since her sister Camille's death, Juniper Lemon keeps track of her happiness by writing daily on note cards. (I am actually loving this idea and think I might start doing it as well) After losing card 65, she is determined to find it and hunts all over school, including...

The other day we were hanging up washing and Fysh asked why we have fingerprints. The best I could answer him is that they help us grip onto things. Well that answer didn't really placate it, he knows about using fingerprints to find people because of NCIS etc but then in an episode of Numb3rs they got the wrong guy because they used a partial print and assumed it was from the thumb which just brought the fascination of prints back into play. We've decided that Fridays are now...

For a long time now Fysh has had long hair. It's been an uphill battle against family and people commenting on it but he was hard ass at keeping it that way because that's why he wanted.  Week before last he started talking about cutting it and I said okay but delayed it. Then last week he showed me a picture of what he wants and I said okay but he'd have to wait until I got paid. Yesterday we walked into the barber shop at the Sandown Centre...
