Grace Rivers is your everyday twenty-five year old. She could have the world at her feet, but instead chooses to help run the family business. After experiencing great loss early in her life, Grace values what’s most important: her family and friends. But she aches to find that certain someone—that one great, passionate love who values family as much as she does.
Cole Tierney loves his life. He has a wonderful family, a loyal best friend and a successful career as an ER doctor. The only downside is he wants someone to share it with. After being used and left heartbroken, he wants to find someone who will love him for him and not his or his family’s status.
Their two hearts collide by chance and an undeniable connection is quickly made.
But when others are plotting against their happiness, will their love flatline, or will the rhythm of their hearts continue to beat as one?
Warning: This book ends on a cliffhanger, so if cliffhangers aren’t you’re thing, then please stop reading!! If you don’t mind one, then carry on reading, I promise it will be well-worth your time!!
I met Velvet Reed on either Facebook or Goodreads (I really can’t remember) and I’ve been meaning to give her “Matters of the heart” series a read, with the 3rd one coming out I thought it’s about damn time so I quickly stuck my hand up when she offered a copy in exchange for a review and I am so glad I did!
This was her debut novel and wow what a debut! It’s well written with a strong heroine who know’s what she wants, family is important and she’s not all wishy washy like some. Of course there’s a really hunky ER Dr that makes me want to go watch Greys or ER again. It’s got that real romance that we all want this time of year, you know when bills are piling up and the stress is high and all you want it something beautiful to sit down with. This is that and then some. On Goodreads it comes with an age restriction warning due to strong language and sexual content which in my opinion is like putting a huge neon sign over it saying READ ME hahaha.
And the best thing is just when you think you know what’s about to go down you get hit with a TWIST of note!
Like I said, it does happen to be a cliffhanger but it’s so worth the read and at least you don’t have a long wait till book 2 as it’s already out! AND best yet?! Rhythm of my heart is FREE! (well the ebook is) on Amazon and Barnes and Noble :)
